Beatlemania is still alive and well in LondonThanks to a young man by the name of Richard Porter, the young and old can still be introduced to the Beatles history and landmarks in London. Richard was president of the Beatles Fan Club from 1988 until just recently. He has written a book entitled Guide to the Beatles' London. Richard took us on a two hour Magical Mystery Tour of Beatles sites, including among many sites, the Palladium, where they made their first television appearance on Sunday Night at the Palladium, the place where Yoko Ono and John Lennon first met, the sound studios where Hey Jude was recorded (along with Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road), Abbey Road Studios and the very popular Abbey Road crosswalk which appeared on the cover of their last album, Abbey Road.
If you are a Beatles fan, check out Richard's web site at www.fabfour.addr.com.
The Tube
Red buses and now the Tube. What a fashionable way to get around.
The Changing of the Guard at the Buckingham Palace is a mandatory stop on any tour of London. It is quite a pomp and circumstance.
These guards look like the guys from the Wizard of Oz.
